TV Series
My work as a Scenic Artist in major film and television productions _ including projects for Netflix, Apple TV+, FX, and Warner Bros. _ immersed me in the fast-paced construction of temporary worlds. On large studio sets, architecture is born quickly, intensely inhabited, and just as quickly erased. Inside this industrial choreography of building and disappearing, I gained first-hand insight into the systems, pressures, and negotiations that shape how environments are made.
Working alongside construction crews, scenic teams, and art departments revealed a critical truth: miscommunication doesn’t stay theoretical _ it becomes material. It becomes rework, strained labor, and embodied risk. These experiences exposed how much expertise lives in the hands, timing, and spatial intuition of workers whose knowledge is rarely included in the design conversation.
This work taught me that the built environment is not just a backdrop _ it is dialogue, negotiation, and embodied intelligence. Every surface painted, every wall erected carries the traces of countless hands. These experiences motivate my pursuit of design tools that make this labor visible, respected, and collaboratively empowered.
